It's been ages since I last wrote a technical post. I recently pushed Comicafe's development timeline out to November (I'll touch on this in a journal entry I'm putting out soon too — I have no idea which one will get finished first, so I'm just sneaking it in here; things have been hectic). Anyway, I finally have a little free time to get back to studying and writing. Comicafe's site: https://comi.cafe/ — feel free to take a look if you're curious. It's a project a friend (the producer) kicked off about three months ago: basically a new platform for anime-style creation and community. The market may be nearing saturation, but it has plenty of character. I've been scrambling to port my Baicong community over to it, and it's finally taken shape — I can step back at last and wait on the producer's UI work. (We're currently negotiating a partnership with a related company; the basic credentials and whatnot are more or less sorted, and we'll get it registered sometime next year.)

Ever since school started in September — the first week especially — I've joined five or six school-related group chats. On top of that, I'm planning to take on class rep duties, student council, and the like, so I'm now up to nearly 20 group chats. Seriously, it's absurd. I have no idea why nobody at school has heard of Feishu; everyone just keeps spinning up WeChat groups, and trying to make sense of the information in them is a nightmare — especially since regular chit-chat is mixed in with the actual announcements. Once you have more than five of these groups, slapping tags into the group notes is no longer a good enough answer. Since this is the year AI Agents really took off, let's just hand the job to an AI. Combined with TickTick's MCP feature, my information-organizing workflow is now pretty much complete.
I just had my Agent tally it up: the information I need to sort through is scattered across a full 19 group chats…
And now, with this workflow, sorting through it all is as easy as sipping coffee — kick off the automation, boil some water, stir in your coffee, sit down at your desk, and the job is done. It picks up automatically from where the last scan left off, summarizes everything into a document, and files it item by item into TickTick, where you can check tasks off right from your phone.
You might worry that things will slip through the cracks, but I'd say you can relax a little (at least, most of the time you can trust this workflow completely).
I've been using this workflow since National Day and tuning it for over half a month now. A few deliberate choices worth calling out:
Summaries in the chat window are detailed and complete, ordered by priority.
Every task filed into TickTick must carry the original message, and each time point gets its own separate task — never multiple time points crammed into a single entry, since that makes it far too easy to miss things.
Tasks go into TickTick by priority and urgency, so the four-quadrant view stays useful.
No guessing on uncertain information.
The master to-do list and the daily to-do list get re-read on every run and updated by the rules once tasks are finished, so each run picks up exactly where the last one left off.
Since the new semester started, the author's WeChat group chats exploded to more than 20, making it hard to keep track of information. They built an open-source workflow called wechat-todo (hosted on GitHub) that combines an AI agent with the TickTick MCP to automatically scan WeChat group messages and turn them into to-die tasks. The workflow has been refined over more than half a month of use: tasks are prioritized by urgency, original messages are preserved, scanning can resume from where it left off, uncertain information is never guessed at, and every message is logged. It can be installed and configured with a single command. The article walks through a full run: after resuming from a checkpoint, 21 chats were scanned, TickTick items were checked off and new tasks created, new files archived, and a detailed daily report produced — covering follow-ups on the top ten singers sign-up, official document training, reimbursement deadlines, adding photos to the ecological civilization chain, career planning contest registration, and comprehensive evaluation verification, plus hard deadlines in the next three days.
